❓ Frequently Asked Questions

Do Turkish citizens need a visa to enter Argentina?

No. Turkish passport holders can enter Argentina visa-free for 90 days. To stay longer, you must apply for residency before your tourist period expires.

Can I apply for residency from inside Argentina?

Yes. You can apply while on tourist status ("cambio de categoría"). This is the most common path for Turkish expats.

How long does it take to get the DNI?

From appointment to DNI delivery: typically 3–6 months. The "Precaria" document allows you to work and open a bank account in the meantime.

Do I need to speak Spanish for the application?

Documents are submitted in Spanish (translated). You do not need to speak Spanish for the temporary residency application. Citizenship requires basic Spanish.
